Yay or nay? Anyone owned one, driven one, slept in one? Tell me all about it!

I drove a 2001 Roadster. I liked it a lot.
I'm no race car driver though, I'm sure it understeers and blah blah blah, but it feels quick, it has ridiculous amounts of traction, and the turbos made cool noises.
It was the car that convinced me I needed a turbo in my life, and a big part of the reason why I really want AWD for my next DD.

I have driven the 3.2 FSI with a 6-speed manual, and a 2.0 TDI 6-speed. Both fantastic machines, very comfortable for a sports-car, and drop dead good looking. And the fuzzy feeling you get when the rear spoiler pops up at 70-75 mph is irreplaceable.

I believe James May would refer to that feeling as "the fizz" lol.
Good to know. I've always liked the look of them, I wouldn't mind owning one some day if I can fully afford it (price, maintenance, insurance etc.).

I believe you are right.
Wait a couple of years, and they will scatter in used prices.

If you had to choose the own you'd own, would you go 3.2 or 2.0T?

Well I haven't driven the 2.0T I have only driven the TDI version. But between the two I have driven I would chose the 3.2 FSI anyday, lots of power, and a sweet VR6 engine

Hmm, I didn't realize they even put the diesel in it. Are you in Europe or am I just falling behind on my Audi trivia?

I'm from Europe, so you are definitely excused! But you ought'a be selling some of these TDI beasts over in the states, and AVANTS, LOTS OF AVANTS.

There was a TT RS at an autocross I went to once, a couple was driving it. It had some competition hankooks on it and the guy destroyed all the other road car times. The thing looked like it was on rails out there. I had never really been a fan of it until then. Now I think its an awesome car.

And Clarkson would spend an hour choosing which clothes to wear that might be suitable for coordinating with an Audi TT, then complain that the car's handling is "insipidly competent."
